Ashby is originally from Peoria. She lived in the Chicago suburb of Cary, IL for 10 years, then she moved back to Peoria after high school in 1998. She still has close family and friends in the suburbs. During her time there she was very involved as a student and volunteer at Willow Creek Community Church.
She met her husband Joe here in Peoria, they were married in 2003. They have a busy home with 3 children, Emma and Riley who are 8.5 years apart and Andrew is a short 17 months behind Riley.
Joe and Ashby were part of the original small group that started Imago Dei, Ashby joined the Imago staff the summer of 2012. She likes the unpredictability of a ‘typical’ day at Imago. At Imago she feels like she’s part of something big and important that has greatly impacted her and her family.
Ashby loves to hear people's stories, both the highs and the lows of their journey. She loves to laugh, and loves spending time with her family and friends. When she was young she loved playing ice hockey. She still loves to skate laps at the rink when she's able, even after 30+ years of sporadic skating, it's still the most life-giving thing to her.
Co-Pastor :: Local Outreach & Communications
Christina grew up in the small town of Clinton, where she spent her time playing softball, performing in school plays, and watching Disney movies with her two younger sisters. She attended Millikin University in Decatur where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Human Services. While at Millikin, she met her husband, Dustin. They lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for several years, where she graduated from Oral Roberts University in 2011 with a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts of Christian Counseling (Marriage and Family Therapy).
Christina (and Dustin) served on staff at The Gathering Church from 2010-2013 and loved their time in Tulsa. While in seminary, Christina helped start a small ministry in her apartment complex by building relationships with the children and families that lived nearby. It was during that time that she developed a love for serving and connecting with people from all walks of life, and she continues to use that passion today as she leads Local Outreach and Communications at Imago.
Christina loves working closely with volunteers, organizing events, and listening to people’s stories. Her greatest passion is mobilizing the church to make a difference right where they are, especially in the area of foster care and adoption. She’s continually dreaming about ways to expand Imago’s Surround ministry which comes alongside children, families, and professionals in the foster care and adoption community of Peoria.
When she’s not working, Christina loves gathering around the table with friends, playing board games, and drinking lots of coffee. Most of her time is spent with Dustin and their two daughters, Kaylynn and Kristin, who make each day a little more lively.

Co-Pastor :: Connections & Care
Dustin grew up in Macon, IL, a tiny farming town outside Decatur. He doesn’t remember much from school growing up, but has a lot of fond memories of playing Nintendo with his cousins, lighting fireworks, and climbing trees in his backyard.
While attending undergrad at Millikin University, Dustin met his wonderful wife, Christina who is one of the other Co-Pastors here at Imago. In 2003, Dustin sensed a call to pastoral ministry and decided to transfer schools & move to Tulsa, OK where he got a Master of Divinity at ORU. Dustin and Christina have been happily married since 2007 and have two beautiful little girls, Kaylynn & Kristin.
Since joining our staff in July 2013, Dustin has enjoyed helping new people connect with our body, leading the Ministry Team, offering spiritual direction to fellow pilgrims, singing and providing direction to the Worship Team, and filling in where needed. Serving the people of Imago through Connections & Care brings life to his soul.
When he’s not building relationships with people, Dustin can be found taking in a show or two with Christina, hanging out with close friends, and searching for the perfect piece of dark chocolate.
