General happenings:

You Are the Voice of Imago Dei

As we’re heading into Vision Sunday this fall (August 25th, sort of a ‘kickoff’ date at Imago), our leaders want to hear from you. Please take a few minutes over the next couple of weeks to take our survey. You're welcome to include your name or to speak anonymously. It's important we hear from all perspectives. We want your ideas, beliefs, values and concerns because they all matter and will be thoughtfully and prayerfully considered as we look toward the future of Imago Dei. You can fill it out online or you’re welcome to grab a paper copy from the Info Booth on Sunday. Thank you in advance for giving us your time and sharing your heart!

Parables: Tell Me the Stories | Summer Sermon Series

There are few oral practices that capture our attention like stories, so for this summer’s sermon series, we’ll be diving into the stories that Jesus told throughout the gospels - the parables. Jesus told these stories to help his listeners better understand deep spiritual mysteries as well as to challenge their stereotypes, prejudices and theologies. We’re looking forward to a meaningful summer as we explore the parables together!

Surround:Connection Group | Tuesday, July 23rd at Santa Fe Park

Once a month, this group provides a space for local foster and adoptive families to gather together to share a meal and connect over the joys and challenges of parenting. This month’s group will take a break from our normal rhythm and meet all together (parents and kiddos) at Santa Fe Park in Chillicothe from 5:30-7pm on July 23rd. We’d love for anyone on the journey of fostering/adopting to join us. Bring swimsuits for your kids (for the splash pad), and a side dish to share if you’re able. Contact Christina for more info, or join the Surround:Connection Group on Facebook.

Support The Peoria Pride Festival | Saturday, August 3rd

We have great opportunities to show love and support to our LGBTQIA+ Community by participating in the Peoria Pride Festival on August 3rd. Join us from 11:30am-12pm at the Glen Oak Park Amphitheater for an Interfaith service to kick off the festival. You can also volunteer at the Affirming Faith Communities Vendor Booth passing out water bottles and literature. We are also partnering with Free Mom Hugs to provide hugs and high fives. If you would like to participate sign-up today and order a shirt at or buy a button at the vendor booth the day of the event. You can also buy "Free Dad Hugs" on other websites. Email Josh for more info.

Back-to-School Uniform & Supply Drive for FamilyCore

We’ll be collecting school supplies and uniforms (navy shirts and khaki or navy bottoms) from now through Sunday, August 11th. Drop off all donations at the Donation Center in the lobby. Thanks for helping kids in foster care have what they need to start the school year off right! Contact Christina for more info.

Youth Pool Party | Sunday, August 18th

If you’re heading into 6th-12th grades, you’re invited to a Youth BBQ and Pool Party at Dustin and Christina’s house! Join us on Sunday, August 18th at 11am. We’ll cookout for lunch and spend time enjoying the pool as we soak up the end of summer. Pastor Josh will be joining us as well! RSVP to the Hites for directions.

Vision Sunday - Save the Date | Sunday, August 25th

Save the date for one of our favorite weekends of the year - Vision Sunday! On August 25th at 9am, we'll gather to celebrate the last year and look forward to the future together.
