Finding the Divine at Your Energy Source (from April 23rd by Mandy Kampen)

For the next few months our Sunday school class is talking through spiritual practices from the perspective of where we naturally encounter the divine. So we’re also hijacking the Imago Voices to keep the conversation going!
According to the Myers-Brigg, an introverted preference reflects that a person is energized by their internal world, thoughts, and personal experiences. God is found through reflection and introspection, and their spiritual path is more private.
An extroverted-leaning preference means that a person gets their energy from people, things, and events outside of themselves. God can be seen in what some might consider coincidence, in “divine appointments” and in the people around them. They find God in action, works of service to others, and participation in the social workings of the Church.
Whether you resonate with one, the other, both, or neither - here are some spiritual practices you might want to try (or try again). A quick online search can lead you to all sorts of resources on any of these, or start a convo on our Facebook page!
Lectio Divina - a reflective, meditative approach to reading Scripture. Start with a prophet, psalm, or John 1.
The Examen - a look through your day with the Holy Spirit as a guide.
Meditation - you choose the flavor!
Retreat - plan a weekend, a day, even an afternoon for silence and reflection.
Volunteer - whether at Imago or in the community.
Find a prayer partner - ask someone to meet regularly to pray together, for each other or friends or the community, etc.
Bible study - whether with a friend, at Imago, or that prayer partner. Maybe focus on something like Jesus’ miracles or interactions with others.
Connect with community - make the most of the seven minute greeting, consider becoming a greeter, check out Sunday School.
Imago, may you find the Divine in unexpected and newly discovered ways because the Divine is seeking you in so very many ways.
