Discernment

We’re hitting your inbox this Sunday afternoon because our church has some big news to process. If you weren’t with us this morning during our service, we invite you to check out today’s message on discernment.

Dustin and I were able to share about a discernment process we’re currently in, and if the opportunity plays out, our family will be transitioning to living in Austin, Texas in a tiny-home community called Community First Village - a master-planned village aimed at lifting those experiencing chronic homelessness off the streets. You can learn more about the village here.

We’d be living as missional residents, basically just neighbors choosing to come alongside those who have lived on the margins for years, sometimes decades.

This is a huge deal for our family and for you, our church family that we love dearly.

Because of this, we have shared with the leadership team and church pretty early in the process, so that our leaders can begin working on the necessary steps that will help Imago transition into the next season.

While our possible move date wouldn’t be until late Spring or early Summer of 2020, now that we've shared, we can spend the next months raising up leaders, empowering volunteers, and transitioning our responsibilities in a way that will keep Imago moving forward into the future that God has in mind.

We are incredibly confident in Pastor Josh and the Leadership Team to help our church move through this transition well, and we have faith that God will continue bringing in the right people to join the goodness that is happening in and through the life of Imago.

We’re aiming to approach this transition openly, so we hope you’ll reach out to ask questions along the way. You can contact us directly, talk with Pastor Josh, or take questions to the Leadership Team.

Our leaders are already working behind the scenes to put together a search committee to find someone to come alongside Pastor Josh as another co-pastor who will help carry Imago into the next season of ministry.

Thank you for journeying with us. You are our people, and we’re grateful for your prayers. We will continue serving and loving you well as this transition unfolds.

Grace and Peace,

Christina & Dustin
