Our longest running outreach ministry, Breakfast Club, began organically as a way to provide a hot meal on Sunday mornings for those who were experiencing homelessness. We served downtown from a small office and continued to grow as our church evolved and changed.

Years later, we’re still serving breakfast weekly, but we’ve shifted our focus and our dreams for this ministry. We hope that when people enter the room each Sunday, they experience more than a good meal. As we gather around tables, we hope our guests and our volunteers are able to share stories and find friendship with one another.

So what happens each week during our Breakfast Club?

Starting at 6:00am, volunteers arrive to get the kitchen ready and the food prepared to serve. Our van drivers head out to pick up about 80 guests each week from a few downtown locations, and then we gather back at our church so we can share breakfast together at 7:00am.

Lots of logistics go into keeping the process smooth, so that we can focus on what really matters — providing opportunities for connection, friendship, and hope. At Breakfast Club, and in all areas of Imago Dei, we hope to always demonstrate authentically that all are truly welcome.
