Though we don’t follow it strictly, we observe the broader Church Liturgical Calendar in an attempt to emphasize various aspects of the birth, life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ, finding ourselves in His story.
We celebrate holy seasons like Lent and Advent, and have found them to be incredibly helpful and meaningful. Each Sunday at Imago has a similar look and feel, but we also enjoying switching things up from time to time, pulling from the rich diversity of Christian traditions, practices, prayers, and music. We often read passages from the Revised Common Lectionary in service because we value being connected to the worldwide Church (which may be reading the exact same passages). We have much more in common with other believers than we tend to acknowledge. While we don’t take ourselves too seriously, we honor the sacredness of our communal practices.
